➖The main tasks of the Center are to develop and implement a scientific-historical concept that reflects the fact that our country has for centuries been an integral part of world civilization and one of the centers of Islamic culture;

➖To form the Center’s library and archive, manuscript collections from ancient handwritten and lithographic books, historical facts and documents, archaeological finds, artifacts preserved both in Uzbekistan and abroad relating to the great scholars, thinkers, saints, and the scientific and religious schools they founded, along with modern research, books and collections, video and photo documents;

➖To establish the thematic directions of the museum exposition within the Center according to a carefully thought-out, scientifically grounded plan and to present it using the most modern information and communication technologies;

➖To conduct deep scientific research into the invaluable legacy of our great compatriots who made a huge contribution to the development of Islam Imam Bukhari, Imam Tirmidhi, Hakim Tirmidhi, Abu Mansur Maturidi, Abu Muin Nasafi, Qaffal Shashi, Abdulkhaliq Gijduvani, Najm al-Din Kubra, Burhan al-Din Marghinani, Baha al-Din Naqshband, Khoja Ahrar Wali and to widely promote their scholarly-spiritual courage and noble human virtues;

➖To analyze the role and importance of the heritage of such scientists and thinkers as Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, Ahmad al-Fergani, Abu Nasr al-Farabi, Abu Rayhan al-Biruni, Abu Ali Ibn Sina, Mahmud al-Zamakhshari, Mirzo Ulughbek, Ali Qushchi in the history of world science and in the development of modern civilization, and to reveal the humanistic essence of the works of classical representatives of literature and art such as Alisher Navoi, Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, Kamoliddin Behzod, and Mahmud Muzahhib;

➖To carry out scientific research directed at deeply analyzing the true humanistic content of Islam, which always calls people of all nations to a bright life, goodness, mutual friendship, and humanity, as well as to hold various conferences and educational events encouraging global unity in the struggle against ignorance through enlightenment;

➖To demonstrate, through monuments and complexes built in honor of great scholars and saints in our country, models of sacred pilgrimage sites, unique manuscripts and lithographs, tangible and intangible heritage such as the “Shashmaqom”, that Uzbekistan’s ancient history, culture, statehood traditions, lifestyle, and worldview developed in close connection with Islamic civilization, and to conduct scientific research in these areas, preparing encyclopedias, catalogs, albums, popular-scientific collections, television programs, films, and other materials based on the results;

➖To establish scientific-research activities within the Center with the broad involvement of both local and foreign specialists and to inform the public in Uzbekistan and the world of their results;

➖To enrich the exhibitions displayed in the Center with exhibits and illustrative sources related to the Muslim Renaissance period, which had a strong influence on the formation of the European Renaissance, by organizing pavilions containing extensive information about the development of science, culture, art, and architecture in that era;

➖To present the masterpieces of science, culture, and architecture created during the period known in world history as the “Amir Temur and the Timurid Renaissance” not only as a period of development and flourishing of Islamic culture in our country but also as a great era for the entire Muslim world.

In order to effectively establish interfaith and intercivilizational dialogue, which is gaining increasing importance today, the prestige of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan in the world is ensured through close cooperation with international scientific institutions and organizations, including such international bodies as UNESCO and ICESCO.
